Atlanta Tutors was founded in 2005 by Nathan and Hope Vigil--a husband and wife team of dedicated educators.

Nathan Vigil, General Director
Nathan Vigil received his bachelor’s degree from UC Berkeley and his master’s degree from Emory University. Nathan has published with Cambridge University Press and Routledge Press, given academic presentations at Oxford University and to the American Historical Association, and received scholarships from Princeton University and the US Department of Education. In addition to running Atlanta Tutors, Nathan teaches college Writing and History courses. In recent years, he has taught at Georgia Tech, Emory, and the University of Georgia.

Hope Vigil, Client Relations and Community Outreach
Hope Vigil graduated summa cum laude from Georgia Tech with a bachelor’s degree in International Affairs. She earned her master’s degree in Education from California State University, Fullerton, with a specialization in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL). Prior to starting Atlanta Tutors, Hope worked as an English Instructor at Georgia Christian University.

Sandra Weiers, Client Relations and Tutor Management
Sandra Weiers has close to two decades of classroom teaching and home tutoring experience. A licensed Language Arts teacher and published writer, she graduated from Bethel College. There she received a Dean's Scholarship and was inducted into Sigma Tau Delta (International English Honor Society). Her formal teaching experience includes Honors English, Alternative School education, and ESL. She has also tutored all subjects Pre-K through 9th grade and has particular expertise in reading, writing, speech, and test preparation.

Philip Bradley, Systems Development and Strategic Planning
Philip Bradley grew up in Atlanta and graduated from Tucker High School. He attended Georgia Tech, where he was a President's Scholar and graduated with a degree in Computer Science. Philip has a long history of mentoring Georgia young people, including ten years as a counselor and advisor to student associations at Georgia Tech and UGA.

Linda Somma, Human Resources and Business Development
Linda Somma received her bachelor's and master's degrees in Education from Rutgers University and is a certified K-18 teacher with ten years of formal teaching experience. She is a seasoned human resources manager and has previously held senior positions (Director, Vice President, Senior Generalist) at a number of major corporations, including Fireman's Fund Insurance Co., Bank of America, Goldman Sachs, and the Mt. Sinai Medical Center.

At Atlanta Tutors we carefully screen all of our tutors to ensure that they meet the highest standards of academic achievement, teaching ability, and personal character.

All of our tutors either have college degrees from distinguished national universities or are exceptional students at Emory University or Georgia Tech with outstanding academic records. Our test prep tutors have complete mastery of the tests that they teach, and our subject tutors are experts in the fields that they tutor. In addition, all of our tutors have substantial teaching experience.
